Time to get slightly vulnerable and share my journey, where I am now and how I want to use it to influence others.

Let's condense 33 years into a few sentences here. I was born in Dubai, moved to South Africa in 1994, moved to the UK in 1995, moved to Singapore in 2000, moved back to the UK in 2005, went to Bristol University in 2008, graduated and moved to London in 2011, moved to San Francisco in 2018, moved back to London in 2021 and then in March 2023 I moved to...well travelling around the world. And take a breath.

First of all, I just want to say I regret nothing and doing what I have done in my life so far has led me to this point. Whilst at University I did two summer internships, I then graduated and went straight into Tech Sales. Over 12 years I worked for 4 companies, most notably DocuSign for 8 years (which gave me the financial freedom to travel), went to various holiday destinations and created countless special memories with family and friends.

And here is the BUT...but I still felt I was missing something in life. For so long I was scared of taking a break from my career and salary, we've been conditioned as a society to think we're being lazy if we're not working. BUT...I finally decided to take the leap, quit my job and travel. Initially I thought 3-6 months would get the travel bug out of my system, but it wasn't just the fun I was having travelling, it was the change I was seeing in me which excited me the most and so I decided to extend this to a year.

After the year was up, I spent Christmas with my family and close friends. I had so many kind comments such as I seemed so much happier, I was more engaged in conversations, my tone of voice was more positive and so on. This came as a slight surprise as sometimes you don't realise the improvements in yourself until you get some type of validation. So it was great to know that I had my thirst for life and I was starting to put out the Billy that has always been there, he just needed a reset and a journey.

I have always been into self-development, over the years I have started journalling, making notes on things that improve my mental clarity, understanding things that no longer serve me as they once did, trying new sports to keep improving physical health and most importantly actually speaking with close mates to form deep conversations about all things life. I'm an introvert at heart, so this seemed daunting at first, but once you do a few uncomfortable things and see the end result, it becomes so rewarding.

I will admit though, with life so demanding and society putting so much pressure on us, I found myself lost, unaware I was actually in a slump, and only in the past year have had my lightbulb moment. This is why I am so passionate about passing this knowledge and experience onto others.
